XWiki and CryptPad FOSDEM meetup #1

All seats are taken, and the registrations are closed.

FOSDEM (Free and Open Source Software Developers' European Meeting) is a free and volunteer-driven conference that takes place annually in Brussels, Belgium. It is one of the largest gatherings of open-source software developers, enthusiasts, and communities from around the world and our XWiki and CryptPad teams have greatly enjoyed each edition we've been part of. FOSDEM takes place in the first weekend of February and features a wide range of tracks (also known as "devrooms"), talks, and workshops covering various aspects of open-source software.

Why?

For the past 5 years we've co-organized with NextCloud, OpenProject, and Tiki the "Collaboration and Content Management" devroom, and we've seen great interest in the presented topics and in our two software projects we're working on – XWiki and CryptPad. We've grown a lot, both as projects and as teams. We've tackled many projects, received a lot of contributions, questions, ideas, and fundings (the 3 consortiums as part of France 2030 cloud strategy, openDesk, WAISE, and Cristal projects just to name a few). XWiki and CryptPad have been undergoing intense R&D and product development this past year and people involved in said development will be present at FOSDEM and the meetup.

We think it's the right moment to come into a more organized format and gather the two communities and facilitate a context where you can talk, ask questions away, satisfy your curiosities, and enjoy some Belgian beer while doing so. Of course, the invitation is open to any open-source aficionado! šŸ˜

When?

Saturday, on the 3rd of February, starting with 19:00 until 00:00 (Brussels time).

Where?

Scott's Bar & Kitchen (2nd floor, Mezzanine) on Rue Montagne aux Herbes Potagères 2, 1000 Bruxelles, Belgium.

How to register?

Please register through this CryptPad form as early as possible. The space is limited, and we want the organization to run smoothly. Also, if by chance you'll not be joining anymore, let us know as soon as possible to open up the spot for someone on the waiting list.

Costs

None. Registration and attendance are free. Also, the first round of beers is on us, and we'll also enjoy some light snacking. šŸ» You can order additional food and beverages on the spot if you wish.

See you soon in Brussels!
