After a festive and lively September, we’re gearing up for an October packed with exciting events and opportunities to connect with the open-source community. This month, you’ll find us attending not one, but two major events in Germany! Plus, we’ll be participating in a key online event, making this month a perfect opportunity to engage with partners, industry leaders, and open-source enthusiasts who are eager to learn more about XWiki and CryptPad.
Smart Country Convention (SCCON)

Our first stop will be at the Smart Country Convention (SCCON) in Berlin, running from October 15-17. SCCON is a leading event for the digital transformation of public services, bringing together government officials, industry experts, and tech innovators to explore the future of digital governance.
At SCCON, we’ll be teaming up with our partners from openDesk, showcasing how XWiki integrates with their platform to provide a powerful collaboration suite for public administrations. openDesk, developed by ZenDiS, is designed to handle everything from encrypted real-time communication to complex project management, offering a tailored solution for government entities. With more than 30 public organizations already testing openDesk—including the Federal Ministry of Health and the State of Berlin—we’re excited to show how XWiki complements this tool to support knowledge sharing, collaboration, and secure document management.
If you would like to experience openDesk live, you have the opportunity to do so at the openDesk stand at the Smart Country Convention (Hub 27, Stand 317).
We’ll also be delivering a 15-minute presentation at SCCON to highlight how XWiki can help any team to build a knowledge base adapted to their needs. We will run through some of the most popular features proposed by XWiki to adapt the platform to company use cases.
IT-SA Expo and Congress

Next, we’ll be heading to IT-SA Expo and Congress in Nuremberg, running from October 22-24. As one of the largest IT security events in Europe, IT-SA is a central hub for decision-makers, IT security experts, and professionals from across industries. The event gathers stakeholders from industry, services, and public administration to explore customized and cutting-edge cybersecurity solutions.
For XWiki, IT-SA is the ideal place to highlight our platform’s strong security features, such as access control, data encryption, and audit trails. To round off the month, we’ll also be participating in the OMIMO Community Forum 2024 on October 24, an online event dedicated to open-source tools for project management. XWiki has been invited to present alongside other open-source projects such as OpenProject, Nextcloud, and Joplin. During the event, Stefana Nazare, our Product Owner Apps & Cloud will provide a short demo into XWiki for the P3.express community. This demo will focus on showcasing how XWiki can be used to centralize project documentation, streamline collaboration, and improve overall team productivity.
This virtual event is a great opportunity for project management professionals to discover how XWiki fits into the complex enterprise ecosystem, providing a flexible and user-friendly solution for managing project data and knowledge sharing.
